We recently competed this accessory dwelling unit in Austin. An [ADU] can be a max of 1100sqft or 15% of the lot size - whichever is smaller. Any ADU in Austin is allowed 550sqft max on the second story. It’s also important to keep in mind impervious coverage and FAR calculations for the entire lot while designing one of these bad boys...that was a lot.
